class specific needs

  • Reserve a social space and a set amount of funding for first-years who want the opportunity to organize a “party/event” for their peers on the first Friday of every month.

  • Provide What’s-a-Hoya alternatives for students unable to attend traditional seminars or programming.

  • Host a series of workshops that provide quick and accessible overviews on the important but at times overlooked aspects of the student experience. Workshops would cover navigating Washington, DC’s metro system effectively, understanding the full features MyAccess and MyDegree, and more.

  • Develop ‘First-Year Friday’ as a recurring newsletter and social media drop that covers useful tips, resources, and updates that can help maximize a first-year student’s experiences at Georgetown.

  • Work with Residential Services to allow non-first year students to request an early move-in and move-out date due to personal crisis.
