covid-19 protocol

  • Ensure that Georgetown’s administration establishes strong, equitable, and effective COVID-19 safety guidelines for on-campus and off-campus students. This necessitates reasserting proportionate, sustainable consequences for those who break these guidelines and endanger the lives of other community members.

  • Provide staff operating in open spaces on-campus the tools, resources, and institutional support necessary to remain in compliance with COVID-19 social distancing recommendations and restrictions. This includes staff-specific COVID-19 safety supplies, the reinforcement of student capacity limits for open facilities, and more.

  • Work with Georgetown’s administration to guarantee that students approved to live on-campus for the 2020-2021 academic year are given the same housing options for the 2021 summer semester without needing to re-apply. This extended program must include access to limited dining options, flex dollars, or bulk grants.

  • Demand specific, consistent updates from high-level administrators regarding all planning updates for the Fall 2021 semester. This includes the scheduling of weekly meetings with relevant administrators to provide student and staff input on all pending decisions.

  • Work with Georgetown’s Student Employment and Financial Aid Offices to expand the number of virtual work-study opportunities made available to students, both on-campus as well as through independent contractors.

  • Maintain GUSA’s current advocacy work on the fight to ensure fair and equitable financial aid as we continue to account for the COVID-19 crisis.
