general academic reform

  • Expand the official list of accepted languages for proficiency requirements to be more representative of African, Latin American, Indigenous, and Asian diversity.

  • Work with the Provost Office to develop official, overarching policies to address faculty accountability, especially those protected by tenure or contract. This must include formalizing the process for reporting or switching deans and the creation of an anonymous reporting system for faculty.

  • Push the Provost and Deans’ Offices to allow for non-language majors or minors to take their language requirement courses as Pass/Fail.

  • Develop a universal database that covers all courses, including past syllabi and handouts from professors, that operates as a community cooperative between students.

  • Campaign for the curves across all majors and department programs to be made less severe, at least during the duration of COVID-19 recovery.

  • Push for the increase of administrative funding for non-government majors, especially those connected to or exemplifying the arts and social sciences.

  • Support the Department of Student Activism’s initiative to better integrate diversity in the SFS requirements

  • Advocate for the establishment of Financial Literacy and Practical Insurance courses that are, at minimum, worth 1.5 credits that go towards a student’s undergraduate degree.
